Tunisair Launches Fleet Expansion with New A320 Aircraft

Tunisair Strengthens Fleet with New A320 Aircraft
Tunisia's national carrier Tunisair has issued an international tender for the long-term lease of two A320 aircraft starting in 2026, as part of a structured fleet renewal and expansion strategy.
Lease Structure
The contract covers aircraft rental without crew, maintenance, or insurance — with Tunisair responsible for all operational activities and crew management in accordance with its air carrier certification.
Fleet Growth Roadmap
As part of Tunisair's restructuring plan for 2026–2030, the airline also plans to lease:
- 4 medium-capacity aircraft between 2027 and 2028
- 2 large-capacity aircraft between 2029 and 2030
Why This Matters
A stronger fleet means more routes, better frequencies, and improved reliability for travelers flying through Tunisia's airports. Combined with the planned expansion of Tunis-Carthage Airport, these developments signal a major modernization of Tunisia's aviation sector.
